Hello.
I came across this page when trying to find an answer to a problem, as yet unresolved. Not being very good with computers I was feeling pretty pleased when I built my website thanks to Moonfruit being so user friendly. However I have lost somehow what I think is called the original 'template' from all of the pages. Everything else is fine. Can I get it back or will I have to start all over again. If anyone can help, thanks. I realise that this may not be the place to ask this question, but i'm just hoping...

Will it also copy over any images and files that have been used on that site which users have uploaded or will it just copy moonfruits own files?

Just an update on producing your own templates. We are currently working on a feature that will enable users to duplicate a site template. That is, if you build a site with specific pages, background, fonts, layout and colour (amongst other things) you will be able to duplicate those features (as a template) by generating a new site with that template style. This is coming very soon to SiteMaker website near you.

Guys some really greatwork within the moonfruit group however can some genius please come up with a way of intergrating an image slider into our site we cant embed one so can someone see if and how we can get one on here.oh and to be honest john and bubba really you have answered your question if you can copy a site then you can make your own template just take snippets of templates upload them and put them back together again.

I understand that we can't duplicate sites but hows about allowing us to design our own template - I've a number of sites that I need to produce to the same layout (with customised forms ect. and all I'd then need to do is change colours and some pic - how about it...I'd even consider paying a fee (small) to save all the manhours of building every site from scratch

Hi Rick,

No, you don't have to stick your hand in your pocket for this one. You can just set up a trial site (under a different User Name) and if it takes you a bit longer just take the 'go free with ads' option. It doesn't matter if it's a trial or a free site; we are after creativity and originality.

So, please feel free to have a shot. And if your templates are good enough, you might just get some money out of us!

Hi, I was going to have a go at designing a series of templates. However, I only have Lite membership and already have a site. Does this mean that to have a go I would have to upgrade my membership? (I live in Yorkshire, it takes a lot to get more money out of me)

Yep, as per our PDF. Just make sure you own the rights to the media you are including (in the zip file) and that you are prepared to have this included in our public library. If your template is not accepted then your media will not be used by us.

Oh wow, is this something I can still get involved in? I notice this was posted a few months back, and was wondering if you are still accepting submissions?

I've been on moonfruit, and have been doing my own templates for years, so this is right up my street!

Excellent idea and already working on some. I wonder if it might be worth running this as a competition - not for additional payment but simply just a public 'pat on the back'? Maybe even a feature on the home page to make this more prominent as I am sure more users would like to see this kind of community involvement profiled.

We added 6 new templates in the last release - ones we had designed our selves. The next release (in a couple of weeks) we will be releasing some more graphic fonts and the following release, we'll be adding some new media which will include a few more templates and some additional images. As for the user-supplied templates, we have had a few submissions, most of which we have responded to and some which showed great promise. This will be, for the moment, an ongoing task.
