Sorry about that. I can only spot one ticket from you in our system - checking against your given email address and dated yesterday afternoon. Is it possible you used another email address to contact us on?

That apart transferring will simply require us to release your domain and handle to you so that you can manage the transfer yourself through our domain partner Gandi.

I've released your handle (username/account) and your domain to you now, and sent an email to the address registered against the domain with instructions on how to use gandi.net. One thing I would point out is through Gandi you will be able to manage your domain fully (DNS, nameservers, email etc) and point it to external websites.

This is something we are still waiting on Gandi to set up for us so that we can offer that to our own customers as we understand how useful this is. But the domain control is now yours.

Hey -

I've sent out two general inquiries via your contact form and have yet to hear a response. I am looking to transfer my domain name away from Moonfruit as it simply isn't going to suit our needs for the future of our site. Can you please advise on how to do so? Unfortunately, w were supposed to have our new splash page up and running by today, but since it hasn't been transfered over yet, I doubt I can now reach that goal...

Hi Melanie,

You will need to use 'GANDI' (without the 'H'). Contact your current host and they should be able to fix this for as they would not, I assume, have been able to process the transfer with an incorrect IPS Tag.

Hi,

I have just tried to transfer my domain name from uk-cheapest.co.uk to moonfruit.
I changed the 'tag' to GHANDI then payed for the transfer fee on their website, then came back onto here, completed the set up and payed your £10.99 transfer fee, which all went through fine.
But now when I come on to the moonfruit back end it says "status pending - your order has been received but you now have to change the 'tag' to GHANDI", but I have already done this and payed for it.
I even tried to change it to GHANDI again but then it takes me straight through to the payment area again.

I have tried emailing uk-cheapest about this but they are a nightmare and will not reply.
I don't know if it has been transferred or not as I am not receiving any confirmation emails and nobody is getting back to me.
I thought it would be any easy transfer to moonfruit, but it's turning into a nightmare!!!

I need some help please

Do this: go to the edit page, click on edit, click on domains, click on this sites domains and then add your domain. There is no need to transfer the domain.

hi
i purchased a domain yesterday from 1 and 1, I wish to transfer it to moonfruit which I have contacted them about, my question is that until my domain name transfers over to moonfruit I will not be able to publish my website, the site name will be eventually "event-full.co.uk but until it transfers over I will have to use event-full.monnfruit.com.
is this right? or is there a way around it.

Your website is fine. Just your domain has hit a glitch but sometimes happens. We sorted that out and are now waiting for your domain to propagate with the new settings (on our servers) around the web.

With luck it should only be a few hours but may take till tomorrow morning before your domain kicks in.

I have transferred my domain name to moonfruit and the site has completely disappeared and I have no email. I am told that the domain does not point to the correct IP address 146.101.249.107. How can this be sorted quickly?

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems but can you explain what you mean by transferring. Do you actually mean your domain name rippingyarns.co.uk? That successfully completed on Apr 30 2010 at 2:15PM. We can see that it has been successfully assigned to your website.

I can also see that you have set up your mailbox rippingyarns@rippingyarns.co.uk successfully with several aliases. Plus we have responded to two of your ticketed queries.

Can you confirm that this is all now working?

We are having a complete and utter NIGHTMARE transferring our website. It is a commercial site and therefore losing business. We were not advised one bit that there would be complications with transferring our website, our emails have all been blocked. There is NO ONE to talk to about this. It's an absolute outrage. We do not have the time for all this faffing about and now our website is totally screwed. What exactly do you suggest we do?

Hi, i have set up my new domain as instructed and selected it as my prefered domain, however when i type the domain into the address bar on a computer with a computer that is not registered on the site, the page only loads the title and none of the content!

Hi Jack,

Your domain is fine. It's transferred correctly and you've assigned it to your site in the proper way. The only thing left for you to do is set your preferred address.

You can do this by going to Domain on toolbar, then on the sidebar use the 'This website's address'. You can then set your preferred address, e.g. your domain, www.freeflushcornwall.co.uk

That apart all looks good.

Sure that wouldn't be a problem. We would simply have to ensure that the website meets the Free site criteria and down grade the package. So as long as your site is beneath 20MB in file space usage and has less than 15 pages there won't be a problem.

Simple use the query form under help to contact Support and request this downgrade once you are happy your site meets the Free site criteria.

If I had a paid site with domains registered through moonfruit, could I cancel my paid package and go for a free package, but still use my domains (that i purchased through moonfruit) with my free site?

I've tried to transfer my domain name to attach it to my moonfruit site. I've updated the A name on the previous server and sitemaker has transfered it in but still says I need to change the A name.

Any advice?

Hi Shawn,

Yes it is an oversight on our part as the process to transfer out requires some back-end administration. The interface we currently use with our domain partner is currently undergoing an upgrade so we hope to have a lot more features available to customers in the future with regards domain management.

If you wish to transfer out any domains simply contact support and give them domain details. How the process works at present is this.
1. Your request a domain to be transferred out.
2. We currently would have to release all domains (you own) under our control to you, which means you log in to gandi.net (Gandi is our domain partner) and not Moonfruit
3. Once you log in to Gandi you can locate the domain or domains and use the interface to transfer out very simply and very quickly

So, simply contact support and request a transfer out and we'll release all your domains immediately.

I'm forced to put my comment on this thread. I cannot find any information on how to transfer away from Moonfruit. I'm aware that the domain needs to be unlocked and the DNS needs to be updated to point to our new hosting company; however, I cannot get any clear information on how to do this. And nothing in the control panel or help files is helpful in this regard.

Please provide us with the correct method for transfering our site to our new host.

Hi Sal,

Your domain and handle have been 'released' from our reseller account. You will have received an email from gandi.net with how to gain access to your Gandi account. This means that you will have full access to your DNS, zone files and more - something we are looking to introduce this year once Gandi has finished work on their new system.

But for the minute, you will be able to point your domain to where ever you like.
