Hi, I've just created a code snippet and added it succesfully. However, I've tried looking at the analytics but it shows 0 views despite myself acesses the site. Does it take time to update? The other thing I was thinking, when I give the address, does it matter which one; the original address is landrakeband.moonfruit.com, but I have bought the domain name www.landrakeband.co.uk which is the one I gave google. Does it matter if I put www infront?

Thanks

Hi. Even though I followed the instructions given above - numerous times - I still cannot add Analytics to my Moonfuit site. All I get is "The code block does not appear to contain a valid Google ID". But that's all I have!! My code block is UA-28540274. Do you think you could add this for me or correct me if I am wrong?

Many thanks. C

Hi Charlie,

Unfortunately, you will have to go back to Google and try again. To use Analytics you will need the code and only Google provide it.

Hi Galys,

No you haven't done anything wrong. The counter is an old style widget that counts every visit including your own. It's basic. We considered upgrading then Google came along with Analytics which did a far better job with accuracy, provided much more information and was free so we simply allowed customers to use Analytics.

So, stick with Analytics it is much more useful indicator of your site's popularity, how it is used and where your customers come from.

Thanks

Hi Robert,

You've already added it to your site. And I can see you've assigned two domains it also:
productionmusiclicense.com and productionmusiclicense.co.uk.

Just ensure you use the domain you've set as the preferred address - productionmusiclicense.com - is provided to Google. And if you weren't aware, you could also add the sub-domains: www.productionmusiclicense.com - www.productionmusiclicense.co.uk. The reason I mention this is that many website visitors automatically add the www so if you don't have that set up then you may miss some useful visitors to your site. You simply add the www versions as you did the root domains.

Hope that helps.

Hi Groovekitten,

At present, no this isn't possible. Adding javascript to the underlying HTML just isn't possible. We provide a field within the software that allows the inserting of the Analytics Code which we then publish in the HTML. This would require a fundamental change to the Software to add an additional field which at present just isn't possible.

We would hope though that your visitors are numerous enough, that your own visits to edit don't make much difference to the overall number.

Kind regards,

Hi guys,

I want to exclude my internal traffic from Google Analytics reports by Cookie Content (for dynamic IP addresses)

Google state:
To exclude traffic by Cookie Content
Note: This is an advanced alternative to the previous method.
To exclude traffic from dynamic IP addresses, you can use a JavaScript function to set a cookie on your internal computers. You'll then be able to filter all visitors with this cookies from appearing on your Analytics reports.
How to exclude traffic by cookie:
1. Create a new page on your domain, containing the following code:
<body onLoad="javascript:pageTracker._setVar('test_value');">
(Please note that this code is in addition to the Google Analytics tracking code that you have on every page of your website.)
2. In order to set the cookie, visit your newly created page from all computers that you would like to exclude from your reports.
3. Create an Exclude filter to remove data from visitors with this cookie. Follow these instructions http://www.google.com/support/googl...
to create a filter with the following settings:
Filter Type: Custom filter > Exclude
Filter Field: User Defined
Filter Pattern: test_value
Case Sensitive: No

Please can you tell me if this is possible?
