Hi Geo,

As long as your SWFs are configured correctly then they will be usable. We have large numbers of members uploading SWFs all the time.

So, what configuration do you need?

* 1. The frame rate must be set to 24 fps (frames per second)
* 2. The file should be exported for Flash Player 7 or 8
* 3. Replace any 'absolute' references to _root (in action script code) with 'relative' references (this, _parent etc)
* 4. Mask any animation that goes outside the SWF boundary
* 5. The generated Flash file must be a self-contained SWF and created using an 'acceptable' Flash generator

If you create your own Flash file or have one built for you then just ensure that it has been created following the above rules.

Hope that helps.

Hi Joe,

If you want to put GIF files on your computer you can follow these steps.
1. Open the File Manager and use the Upload Files button (or use the green arrow on toolbar)
2. When the upload files panel pops up, click the Add Files button.
3. Using the browser window search for your GIF files on your computer and highlight the ones you wish to upload (you can use the Ctrl key to select multiple files or Shift to select a range of files)
4. Click Open, and this will add your list of files to the Upload window
5. Use the Upload button to start the upload
6. Once uploaded your files will be available in the Your Files folder
7. Go to the page you wish to add one of your GIFs
8. Locate one of your GIFs in the File Manager
9. Highlight the file and then click the 'Use this' button.
10. Your GIF will be added to your page where you can move, resize and change the transparency.

And that's it. Looks complicated with a long list but do it once and you will see how easy it is to do.

What I would suggest is to use the FAQ as this has a wealth of information about how to use our product. Or spend some time on the forum as this is a brilliant area for finding things out from very experienced Site Leaders (those who've built their own sites) and conversations customers have had with one another about the using software, finding short cuts and building visitor friendly sites.

Good luck!

Cool. But do be aware you may still have problems if you are using work access or a work computer. We have discovered problems with Proxy server settings blocking uploads which will probably require a chat with the IT Dept.

But let us know how you get on. Thanks

Hi Cal,

If you have a problem with uploading files, and you haven't done this already, please log a Support Query and use the query form. This will give us vital information about your system, and enable us to log your query in our system.

The questions we could do with answering is are you accessing your site at work or on a work laptop/PC - that is are you logging onto the web through a work based system?

Another question, did this just happen or have you just signed up and discovered this problem. Any additional information that you can supply about this problem will of course be a big help to us.

Thanks

Gav, sorry about the delay in reply. We did have a minor glitch with the uploader but that was corrected fairly promptly.

Rids, we do provide an insite search although that relies on Google having indexed the site. We understand that an alternative version might be of use but it takes time to investigate our options, plan and develop. And we already have the next few months well booked up with development plans. But it's an idea we have spoken about and may re-consider at a later point.

Heath, both PNG and GIF files can now be used in images effects, crop tools etc. We'll take your comments on board about the transitions - effects and timings.

Thanks

Hi, i still can't use masked png images in image effects. Can you confirm either way that this will or will not be possible in the near future please.
Could you also consider more transition effects, a longer delay time than 1 min and the ability to use moonfruit images and flash in transitions, like the flame ect., not just the ones you upload yourself.
These are the kind of things which gives greater creative freedom. thanks.

I was just wondering if there was a glitch with the file uploader at the minute?

Its allowing me to browse for an image but when I select one it doesnt appear in the file uploader box.

Do you have any ideas why? Its frustrating not being able to add new images!

Hi, i've asked many of times in the wish list if it would be possible to have the Forum updated to show an Image URL??

I noticed that when it was first released that Joe said it has been set -up for this and would be updated but the main thing was to get it released...

i think it would attract a lot more people to our sites if the Users can display and image from an image Hosting Company such as www.photobucket.com

Your Calendar Widget allows this so wondered if you would add that to the forum? it would make it look so much more presentable, i hope you agree?

Also on the Message Board on our sites it has the facility to allow visitors to receive an email when a reply is posted, can this not be added to the Forum? it would bring people back to our sites.

Many Thanks, Jeff
