Hi, It has come to our attention that the HTML snippets and widgets used in our website do NOT stay still when viewed on other web browsers ie: Internet explorer. I use firefox and all is where it is supposed to be.
This is causing us real problems and i would love a solution to solve this problem, We even have customers calling us to inform us that they cant read information on the website as out HTML widget is in the middle - to the side - all over the place... help

Hi, It is July 2010 and my website is all over the place. Downloaded the latest flash player as your recommended and now my html ads and videos are all over the place and safari crashes every time I view my sites with you. what is the fix for this. you can't have a website which doesn't work when you install the latest flash player with safari.

I am curious as to why some of my javascript html-snippets don't work.

I would really like to include a mobile detect and redirect script, as well as one from Wibiya for feedback etc.

One needs to be installed in the page header and the other before the main <body> tag.

It would be great if Moonfruit could enable this type of control

I've also, like Damian, tried to get the html website to display a league table generated by Full-Time, the FA's website. It would be really useful for me to be able to display results and league tables direct from this site rather than having to manually change it each week.

PayPal now has a new trick, they keep a "rolling balance" of funds you get from sales, basically they take 8% of every sale you do and hold it for 90 days to help prevent charge backs, this will cripple some smaller sellers and companies working with tiny margins, I have worked for a company who works on 12% margins how can they expect people to survive in todays climate, I can see what they are trying to do but I think 90 days is quite excessive!?

I also to want to use Google Checkout...Paypal does not suit my business and tend to my needs where as Google Checkout does....what I find with the beta version of the htlm tool is that whne I insert the code inside the edit page it always appears at the bottom of the website and not in the position I want...can ay one help?

This widget does sound like an innovative solution to the problems of Flash.

The thing I totally want and have expressed is an ability to 100% escape Paypal and use Google Checkout or other Payment solutions that are viable for me but also my Art buyers.

I hope that within the summer even if new ecommerce solutions are way off that this viable Widget will allow me to get away from the horror of having your Paypal funds frozen seemingly at will.

It sounds like you are really working on improving you're service and it's a fantastic development

On my www.testersite.moonfruit.com, I have put on a live streaming webcam.
To be able to do this is a big part of a lot of work I am going to be doing
in the near future with a range of clients. I was delighted to see that the
live feed embedded fine into the page and worked.... but...... when I navigate
away from the page I have embedded it on, it remains in sight on the new page.
I know this is a beta version, but is there anything I can do to prevent this?
Why would it embed and they remain in sight even on different pages? PLEASE can anyone help! If I can't get this to work, I am going to need to find another web building package as it is fundamental in the work I am about to start. Such a shame as I LOVE Moonfruit! Any help gratefully received.

I would like to add a 'share' button to a number of my pages from www.addthis.com.
To do so I need to Copy and paste the code snippet below into my pages, between the <body> and the </body> tags. Apparently, if my website uses templates, I can also copy the code into my template, so the button will appear on all of my pages automatically. | Anyone any idea how I can do this please? - I am less techy than a non techy!

The Chromium team (the folk behind the Chrome browser) have accepted bug we lodged relating to this and have made a bug available for someone (anyone) to pick up and fix.

Opera has just released a new version. We have not tested this.

I am trying to add a Windows Media Player Live stream to my website. When I set the player to autostart the audio doubles.

I use JAlbum to display my photos to clients, and I would love to embed this within my website, rather than providing a link. When I tried it (as the album provides an embed code) I just got one photo up and when you clicked on it, it was just a link... it would not run within the site. I also tried a selection of the downloadable widgets, like google weather etc, but couldn't get any of them to work. I did manage to get a google map on one page. I think it's a great idea and would be really excellent for my sites, especially the school site I run (www.waterortonprimary.co.uk)

I wanted to use the html widget to incorporate paypal's website payments pro button code, which allows users to pay by credit card without having to sign up for a paypal account.

When I pasted the generated button code into the widget, it displays the paypal button, but when clicked takes me to a paypal page that says "Sorry — your last action could not be completed."

Is this a mis-function of the widget, or am I doing something wrong on the paypal side of things?

Ran a couple of experiments regarding compatibility with Firefox.

The widget doesn't work in Minefield 3.6
The widget however does work in 3.0.10 when you change your user agent to IE7/NT6.

...give it a go.

Hi - love the widget - great for adding Amazon links but we're trying to get links from Borders using the same widget but it's not appearing. Here's the html script if any tech bods out there can work out why it doesn't work, I'd be most grateful!

The HTML widget is very useful but i think it has caused a bit of a problem on my website, all link buttons are disabled and can not be deleted.

Im sure with more work the HTML widget will be very good so keep up the good work :-)

Hiya, I'm using the widget with some code for the analytics programme Woopra, it sort of works although it's difficult to see the specific pages accessed by visitors since it only displays /cgi-bin/snippet.cgi for all the pages where I'm using the html widget but I'm hoping with the advent of the beta version its functionality should be improved. Thanks for the pioneering work tho..xx

Tried the Skype button html and found that it does not translate the presence. i.e the Skype button does not show you are on or offline. Would be nice if you fixed that. I'm using IE8

VC, the system is working fine and we haven't had any downtime or errors. If you do have problems accessing your site or you do now can you raise a support ticket and let us know what you mean by 'not working', any changes to your system, your broadband access, your location for access and if possible who your ISP is.

The widget is brilliant!

I use it to place a badge on my site which links to my royalty free portfolio of illustrations-
and can now get referral fees from this link when somebody signs up and buys from the site.
I am so non-technical its not true but this was easy to do

Well I am completely new to website building so it could be me! I used the widget to insert the code for a webring I have joined. However it does not show correctly on the page the icon and navbar are missing. If I click show page in html it shows up perfectly I am using IE7. Not sure what is wrong?

I downloaded the widget and I have used it to display the latest weather in Florida for my website www.emeraldislandtownhouse.com

I cut and paste the code from www.widgetbox.com and it works great.

So I think a weather widget would be a great idea.

I don't have any problems viewing or adding the widgets on my mac using Firefox 3.0.7 or Safari 4 beta.

Thanks Isaac, saw it, looks good ;-). The Firefox issue is a known issue due to a bug in the FF browser. They have fixed the bug, which will be released in the FF 3.5 update, which should be out in June. After that we can make the HTML widget work in FF too. Thanks,

I have recently built, and still in the process of finishing, an online portfolio for my recent work (however primitive), using Moonfruit and I found the HTML snippet quite useful. I am currently using the snippet to display the twitter flash html app to allow my updates to be shown on my site. Using Internet Explorer I have found no problems displaying the twitter app on my homepage, but when viewing the site with Firefox it only displays the app on the bottom of the screen, = (. I was one of the guys who downloaded the HTML Widget and have tried it on a few things and I think this idea from Moonfruit to get around the HTML issue with a flash based application is a step in the right direction.

Hi Craig, Excel may not create the cleanest HTML code, and it may be that it doesn't work in some browsers, hence the problem in IE. Do you have a link to the page with the code on it?

I wanted to see if I could create a table using the HTML widget so exported one from excel. I'm using IE6, Flash 10 and several browser.
I have found that IE6 shows nothing, both Firefox and Opera display the table but unfortunately below the boundary of the web page. Can anyone suggest what I can llok for in the HTML code.
BTW can someone advise the easiest way to manage table data on Moonfruit.

I have used this Widget to make my Paypal functions more versatile.
so i created a button in Paypal that has a stock counter so after i have run out of a specific item Paypal states that it is not for sale making it a less manual process for me.

It also allows for drop down's so you can pick certain sizes of a product.

I think this is one of the best things to happen to Sitemaker as it opens the door to almost anything.

Well I've started using it with Google Calendar as I find it much more flexible and user-friendly compared to the current Sitemaker calendar widget. I'm sure I'll find more uses for it in the future, especially when more of the bugs have been worked out. Great work so far though!
