Hi, The shop is great however I have had real difficulty editing the images on there, for instance when I upload my photos in to the moonfruit picture gallery they come out brilliantly and the right size, however in contrast when they are uploaded in the moonfruit shop, it zooms in on my pictures meaning you cant see the whole product! Is there any way to correct this? This is the only thing that is stopping me from upgrading my account to have an online shop!!! Please let me know

Hey guys great to hear your still working on improvements. Do you have any plans to sort out the functionality of the blog feature?

I find it next to impossible to place links into the text and it appear a different colour. In fact this simple and important action is currently impossible whether i try to edit within the blog window or from the page. It carries out the edits such as a change of font colour or embedding of a link, i save and then view the page and it reverts to the original. this is 1 of many annoying faults of the blog feature. Hope you guys can spend some time sorting it!

Hi all,

Ian: It is obviously your choice, but we do have a raft of mobile HTML improvements planned for February. HTML 5 is very unlikely to kill off Flash, as it isn't designed to do everything that Flash can, but we do also have plans in that area.

Thanks for all this guys! I Hope you didnt waste to much time on your blogs last year, although blog's are working very good right now!

I would like to recommend a "Muti language log-in widget" for 2012.. well, at least for lite packages and plus, should have a multi language login/signup widget..

Also, looking forward to More shop improvements, and much more,.. the mobile site. Wich content could we post on our mobile site and, will there be "Mobile template's" ?

Have a great 2012!

It's clearly been a big year for moonfruit.. but to be honest I will probably move away from moonfruit over the next few months. The flash problems with Apple devices is a major issue, and the html and phone version that moonfruit generates for my site is extremely poor.
It's a shame as I have enjoyed using moonfruit over the years, but technology is changing fast, and html5 will end up killing all the flash sitebuilders off pretty soon :(

Hey guys,
great to see some movement on the shipping options but I still have the issue of needing to set different rates for different products not just international & domestic. At the moment I've had to set the shipping rate to cover the price of posting heavier items like candles but its a bit much to be charging £3.95 to post 1 card. Is this a feature that will be available soon as I have missed out on quite a few Christmas sales because of it.

So chuffed that I can now use moonfruit to build my online shop, I have been looking to find the right shop software for a while and now I can carry on using moonfruit, well that's just super-duper!!!!! :-) I will def be upgrading the site and growing the shop. The new features mentioned are a big must for my business and I look forward to being able to make use of them. Can I ask is there are plans to add a feature where I am able to specify how many of a particular item are available before they are sold out as I sell vintage 1 offs and items where I have a limited amounts which would be difficult to keep on top of without an automatic out of stock feature.

Hi there, I have to contact you here because the support system is down - I cant submit a ticket as it keeps saying 'error'

my issue is below:

I have just built this site for a friend and now I am trying to set up the facebook shop by following your instructsions from the forum:
Click on People (toolbar) > Settings (tab)
At the bottom of the page look for "Link your page to Facebook"
Click on "Fix"
Now select the first option (visit the Facebook Application creation page)
Select “Create new App”
Login to your Facebook account and select “Allow”
Register your website
Confirm your action by following the security check
Click on the first option (Website)
Now enter full url of what you have chosen as your 'Preferred site address' e.g. http://www.yoursiteaddress.com
Follow the onscreen instructions

Problem is when I get to the 'visit facebook application creation page link (see above) nothing happens - it just takes to the FB login page, If I login I am just on the normal FB page for his business.

I dont get anything relating to app creation etc at all.

Do you know why this is?

Thanks,

I'm being requested to make a new payment, but I don't think my site is large enough to pay the extra? I think it is still small enough to be free! I have not sold anything through the website. I'm a pensioner just selling the odd painting when I'm lucky enough!

Hi Arkwright, our next release (before Xmas) is focusing on improvements to the checkout page (quantities & improved shipping). Changing quantities on the product page is on the drawing board and is likely to be included in a release after the New Year.

Flaxi, thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you like its simplicity.

Hi Tigger,

Thanks, we're certainly keen to get the product variants out as soon as we can in the New Year.

Good work with your site btw I hope the business does well via the site.

One recommendation to speed up page loads is see what you can do to minimise some of your image sizes. If you get all your images under the 200KB mark (most are OK just a couple of files in the 1-3MB range) you should see a big improvement on how quickly some of your pages load.

The 200KB size is big enough to retain resolution and quality on the photos but small enough to have less impact on the page loads.

HTH

To be able to give options and differant quanititys to products will certainly help my customers to be able to buy amounts of differant products packed differantly the way they wont all packed ready for freezing on delivery. all thay have to do is open the freezer and put it in.

Hi Laurie, your site was fine, but you hadn't set up your domain correctly with your provider, GoDaddy. We do have FAQ on this very subject on our Support pages and I note you got a response from one of the Support team on the same day (25th) - Ticket #110575. If you are still having issues pointing your domain you'll need to speak to GoDaddy who host it or if you need further advice please reply to that ticket.

Hi Brady,

Your domain completed on the 19th and looks to be working fine with your website. Sometimes the transfer of a domain can take a little longer than expected to kick in. The domain has to pass from your current provider to the new provider and then be approved by the Registry - the controlling body for your type of domain. So there are a few places for it to get stuck.

That said, I've checked your domain and your site and both are working as expected.

Kind regards,

Hi Amelya,

I've checked our Support System against your email address to see what response you did get back from us to see how we could have improved the information. Unfortunately I couldn't find your ticket. Perhaps you used an alternate email address.

With regards your question, we do offer some community tools though not as unified as Ning under one tool. You can add a chat widget to your site, along with a forum and we have a new blog due out very very soon that would enable adding of images and video (amongst other things). We do also offer a membership features across the site but they are all separate tools available across your site.

The only thing I can suggest is to set up a Trial or Free site and have a play to see if it does what you want it to do for you.

I hope that answers your questions.

Kind regards,

Hi Mark,

This seems to be common problem with IE8. You, like many customers, have inadvertently switched on Zoom. If you look at the bottom right hand corner of the browser you will see something like 125% (or perhaps 90%). If you use the Zoom reset keys of Ctrl (Control) + 0 (Zero) then your browser should be reset to 100%.

Give that a try and let us know how you got on.

Thanks,

Hi Mark,

We've tested your site with a couple of browsers and we aren't encountering a problem. When you say cut off do you mean on the right hand side? Can you tell me if you are running IE8?

If you are unsure of the browser type and version, and the Flash version I would suggest you contact support so that we can pick up these details from your system. This would also allow us to track your issue, get screen shots from you (what you are seeing) and resolve your problem more quickly.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a nightmare. I've checked against your email address and can find no accounts with a request to transfer a domain - only one Free account.
Can you give us the domain name so we can find the correct account, and find out what has gone wrong.

We certainly do permit .co.uk transfers and have been since 2008 so I'm not sure why you'd be seeing that kind of error.

While, I am sorry you've had problems with your domain, we do provide technical support for our customers, even Free customers, who have issues like this, logging in problems or site down scenarios. We don't provide a phone service as we find it more efficient to track and order customers according to the problem and when they logged it. It also allows us to collect valuable information about the user's browser, Flash version and operating system which often assists us in diagnosing problems.

So any details on the transfer problem and we'll be more than happy to assist.

Thanks

Tried dealing with this outfit, nightmare. They half answer at best, no telephone support attempts to email them with attachments showing their errors just get bounced. Cannot transfer domains with a .co.uk domain suffix according to their website pop-ups and they have the cheek to charge you for the service. I now have a domain name in limbo, no longer hosted by Easily as I have attempted to transfer it without success to Moonfruit. Any hosting company has to be better than this lot.

The one thing I really need is a website creator that has a good membership directory feature. Yours is okay, but has some problems. Would love to see something more user friendly and something where all the typed content that's entered into the member record shows on the screen. See www.believersbc.com (which I created with Moonfruit).

The only other thing, and maybe you already have this and I just don't know about it, but I hate setting the page length and then having to manually adjust it when my text/text box goes longer than the page length - is there someway for the bottom / footer to "float" instead of the scrolling text box?

Otherwise - happy with the product!!!!

Thank You!

Hi Leila,

I am new to moonfruit and have two fashion sites/stores I hope to move to moonfruit. I had an important query is it
a) Possible to change the amount of products displaued per page
b) Is it possible to add multiple photos per image, or at least an enlarged/expandle photo once it is clicked?

Those are more or less my most pressing concerns.

Thanks for your time

Hi Leila,

Great to have u on Moonfruit team, I have been a customer of Moonfruit since 2001 and I like it but recently my moonfruit sites are getting slower and slower to load I think it has to do with the new toolbar. I have already submitted a ticket and i am waiting for an answer. I hope you can do something about this. Because my sites are popular especially TheAtlasLions.com but this slow loading is just chasing people away and is very frustrating.

Thanks for your help and good luck with Moonfruit.

Cheers/Salams,

Hi Leila,
Welcome. Desperate for a good calendar or events facilities.
A template to enter times, dates, details and they would automatically 'drop off' when date expired - would be great.
Is there anything in the pipeline, please?
