SiteMaker video player - news and views

The SiteMaker Video player was released two weeks ago, allowing you to upload FLV (Flash Video) files, or embed any video file you can find on YouTube or Google Video directly in your site. And unlike any other in-site video player, you can drag, scale and manipulate the video just by dragging and clicking. We reckon it's very cool! (and there's more to come).
So what do you think about it? Are you using it? Post a link to your video site and let us know what you think about it.
But before you suggest a range of enhancements, let me tell you about some of the ones we've already got in the pipeline, which should be released later this month. They include:
- Auto-play option added
- Option to hide controls
- Option to maintain the 4:3 aspect ratio of the video - when enabled the video is padded out with black space, like Windows Media player; when disabled, video occupies entire screen and scales with screen
- Clicking on screen toggles play state between play/pause
- Hovering over the screen fades in either a play/pause icon on the screen, depending on the play state - icon fades out when mouse leaves screen
- Pausing the video now dims the screen with 50% alpha black
- Clicking the provider link on the screen now takes user to actual video’s site, rather than just Google Video or YouTube
- Volume icon responds to different levels of sound, showing no bars, one bar or 2 bars - first sound wave is now smaller than second to give illusion of increasing sound.
So there you have it, SiteMaker finally has a video player. And not a bad one too.

It took a little while for the Video Player to arrive but boy is it worth it!
you know what? i think moonfruit is getting better each month, the new video player is one of the requested features us users want and the new enhancments for it will encourage more people to turn to moonfruit. I have been with moonfruit for almost half a year and was relieved that i found a trusted,genuine sitemaker. I doubt i will ever go to any other sitemaker. I'm with moonfruit all the way.

I love the new video feature. I have been looking for this for a long time. This is very useful because I made a site for a friend that is a rapper and he has a promotional video that goes along with his Music.
On my own site Thirsty13, I can link to any video that is relevant to my topics such as Boston Celtics highlights or Sneakers, etc. I have a bunch of quick videos I put up www.thirsty13.com/kicks and I will only continue to use it more.

The video player is awsome! And the ideas your coming out with for it is even better. I can't wait. Cause I'd like to feature a trailer on my homepage. And make it play automatically. And hide the buttons at the same time. And it's good that when you click it, it will pause and play. You guys are awsome!

its nice thanx to moonfruit but whene i choice my own flash flv file the vedio player does not suport i can hear only the voice any one here ve this problom
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. the inclusion of the video player is brilliant. I am also very pleased that i can link these players to my google videos as i have uploaded them in fairly high quality and this saves using valuable file space. These players also have the advantage of keeping the visitors at my site rather than side tracking them with external links. moonfriut seem to be moving forward in leaps and bounds and i am eagerly looking forward to new additions to Sitemaker in 2007. moonfruit is excellant value for money.

Quite right, because you know that the video player is TOP NOTCH. I don't even need one but I've put one slap-bang on the home page! It is so easy to use, the interface is so straightforward and of course the hotlink idea to Google and Youtube (Aren't they one and the same now!) is genius.
Your customer care has gone through the roof, I love the new features that are coming out and look forward each month to more.

We are so happy that you have at last put the video widget into action, it was starting to feel as if my time with Moonfruit and no video might be limited. I dont mean that in a malicous way I'm just being honest. I think that the video widget has moved Moonfruit into the forfront of build your own sites. Many BYO site companies dont have video yet so thank you and congrats on a great product.
Its also fantastic that your introducing a auto play option, that was going to be a request of ours... it will be kewl as it will then be possible to creat flash type intros etc using short snappy movies on auto play... really bang up to date.
I look forward to that starting soon.

The video widget is a fantastic addition to what was already a great BYO sitemaker, and the addition of the auto play option was excellent. however when auto play is selected and the video finishes to just states "buffering." would it be possible to include an option that would allow the video to replay over and over again.!
Fantastic, I brilliant tool for showing video without expesive servers Etc. Moonfruit is the best online web tool I have ever seen at such a brilliant price. Top marks keep it up!!
does anyone know how to convert a mov. or mpeg file to FLV Video file....can this be done ? Thanks for any help.....
hi guys' ,your video is the most widely used item on our site,members LOVE IT !! we will be upgrading our account soon (again) as sitemaker has certainly made my site a success ! ...so we're needing more space ! well all those involved ,it's a super user friendly site maker !!

i like the new video player i once left moonfruit because it had no way to show videos , but i dont see why they cant just allow us to have a html box where we can then post a html link to a video , but im sure they have there reasons why they dont , but keep up the good work :)
I have tried to upload videos on my video page but they aren't working? I added the http of the video from youtube but they wont play. Can anyone help me please?
