New Release 15th December 2006
By Joe on Thursday, December 14 2006, 17:53 - Release notes - Permalink
After our last release on 21 Nov, we thought we'd just do a small manageable release so we could get it out before Xmas, but it looks like it's turned into a monster release packed full of new features! Don't know what happened, must be all the mince pies we're eating (Marks & Spencer pies are the best btw).
Here are the main changes;
- Improved video player - autoplay, hide controls, etc., see Video article
- Google Analytics integration - add Google Analytics to your site and start getting detailed site stats about page views, visitors, geographical location, etc.
- Full 'arrange menu' options - allows you to better arrange objects on your page in terms of layering, e.g. send to back, bring to front, move forward, move back
- Keyboard shortcuts in edit mode - e.g. delete key and many more, you can see them in the advanced view of the SiteMaker toolbar
- Custom site widths - have a site of any size and shape
- Custom border widths - change the size/colour of the border of your site
- Favicons - upload your own favicon for display in your browser address bar
- Border (HTML) images - upload your own image to your HTML border
- Scale and position bug - some objects were difficult to line up, they would move 1 or 2 pixels after a save - this no longer happens.
Try out some of these and let us know what you think. And post a link to your site, we'd love to see how you're using them.
Enjoy, and Merry Christmas from all The SiteMaker Team!! (ho ho ho).

Hiya, I think the new features are fantastic. Could you have a look at my website (www.celtictiger.moonfruit.com) and tell me what you think. I have added an icon in the address bar and have made a video bit on the homepage using some gradient effects. Thanks,
Tom Brown
Well done on your new release! If you wanna see what I've done with my site then visit www.bbspy.co.uk
is the favicon thing working? cos i looked at ur site tom and it wasnt there.... its not working for me either :(
???????? I'm confused!
Since the launch of the 'Moonfruit Lounge' things have just improved ten fold.
I have to admit after nearly 6 years i considered leaving but the video player, the news updates, now the custom site size, flavicons, new arrange menu etc, I'm sure that I will be renewing my subscription in January.
Well done Moonfruit, finally the service matches the product and price!
Keep it up!
Kekefan.
yes the improved stats is a huge plus ....
Blimey. Happy Christmas to us!!!
My icon is working now!!
My site is updated almost every day and the new backround and icon addition has made my site look more professional. Much appreciated. thanks moonfruit
has any one else found that "Google Analytics " is not workding?? or is it just me
Moonfruit - you just get better every day!
Thank you so much for the new enhancements - I am using them immediately on my new site - a site which is simply about NOTHING...
It has over 100 pages.....about NOTHING

Pay it a visit if you want a laugh!

It says to have your own favicon, it has to be in .ico format, how do I do that?
Also, the scroller is not working on the Sitemakers 'Pages' icon.
Please get back to me.

We love the improvements. We're loving Moonfruit! Customisable site sizes, favicons and backgrounds REALLY help to make websites look pro-quality.
Thank you, folks.
Flasheffects.moonfruit.com is almost ready for re-launch with tons of new goodies (we're busy zipping up everything right now!) for moonfruit users.
communiportal is a website which i wanted full screen and thanks to the new moonfruit addition i can! But i do want to know why my favicon doesnt work in the browser. Apart from that moonfruit is still the #1 website hoster. Thanks!
The new features are fantastic. Google Analytics is the best addition so far. if you have not signed up for it yet, I highly recommend it. Now i can see how many unique visitors come to my site as well as how many pages they read and what are the most popular pages. There are so many features with this it is unbelievable. You will learn a lot about your site once you make this addition.
Thanks! Chris www.thirsty13.com
How do you make Google Analytics integration work as it seems to require HTML ??
Cheers Saul
okay, i have to admit (again). Moonfruit made me realize that my sites is global with its analytics tool. I have had people all over the world visit my sites. And also it shows me where i should advertise more. My hits have increased because of this. thanks moonfruit.
Hi guys,
For those of you who had some questions about Google Analytics, like how to set them up, why you aren't getting any stats, and if you are, where do you start...I've added an entry in the Technical section (Analytics 101) on the subject. So please feel free to dive in, have a read and post some comments.
I'm aiming to add another entry (this week) on PayPal (my favourite subject...not sure how to do heavy sarscasm with a smiley...a wink just doesn't cut it!) and how to reduce potential problems through the SiteMaker software. Once you hit their site, you're on your own, but hopefully this will help those of you with online shops.
Am i being stupid or what?
Where are the favicon settings?
The favicon settings are on the 'border and icon' panel which you can get to through the design menu from the SiteMaker toolbar. I hope that helps.
Concerning the Marks & Spencer's pies, I'm not convinced yet ;)
Ah, so this is where you all hang out. The forums seem dead these days...
Yea, also wanted to say what a great update this was. Favicons, and being able to send objects all over the place especially.
Well done!
