Im liken the flexibilty of the new chat widget but just a little bug, when you select the color schemes, the color pikcer is behind some of the other functions on the editor bar, just change the background color n ull see when the thing comes up it is just a little bug, gr8 release, Tom xx

If you add a new page, the Guestbook is set as a page template. So it is still there :-)

Liking the new release, I just want to find out a bit more about the below please.

# Usability improvements to text boxes
# Improved FAQ search

What are the changes and where is the FAQ search, is that on Moonfruit or is there a FAQ search so that we can add this feature on our sites?

I was thinking as well that a 'Group Items' feature would be teriffic if you could put this in to place sometime in the near future??

Hi Tom, good spot, we'll get that sorted out.

Hi Jeff, the sites were all down for just over an hour yesterday while we ran a few updates to our core customer database. This was planned downtime as part of a release, and won't affect your site in any other way.

Susan, we're on the case with that and I think CS has sent you an email.

Sean, Dave's right, it's still there in the page templates list, so there shouldn't be any change with that.

And finally Dave, the text box improvements relate to things like text selection, duplication, etc., for example text remains selected as you move between tabs, also if text is bold, the editor remembers and correctly displayes 'B' when inside that text, etc. The FAQ search relates to the SiteMaker Help FAQs. There were some terms that were not correctly indexed, but these are now being returned correctly.

Are you still working out the bugs? Downloaded Flash 9 player per message and it's not working. Re-started, cleared cache and Javascript is enabled. Clients are freaking out!

very un professional, down 2 times in less than a week. I've never heard of a company who actually shuts down their own site to do maintenance? moonfruit.com was even down and showing text only.

Man, That maintenance thing freaks me out!!! Without warning and anything.I mean I can understand that you guys going on doing maintenance, but let us know about time that is going to happen. I really thought that moonfruit for a moment that was down for good( just a terrible thought).Guys PLEASE dont do it anymore! I have a plent of sites that I run for other people.

Hi guys, thanks for your comments. And we do apologise for the inconvience caused in all this.

The downtime this morning was due to a network outage at our network providers, which is extremely rare and frustrating. The downtime last Thursday was for 1 hour and due to a database upgrade required for a release. This was planned downtime and the first of these for over 6 months.

It's a great shame this planned and network outage happened so closely together, as this pains a poorer picture for you all, but the reality is that service downtimes are very rare and we have not had any outages for many months.

I hope that explains things better, and we will endevour to communicate more in future. Thanks,

Hi Alex, yes we pay the bills ;-)

The company is going very well thank you, so there's no worry about that.

The outtage was a one-off and we'll follow up with them to make sure it doesn't happen again. I think we've only had 2 occurances where the network provider has gone down in 7 years. None would be better, but these things do sometimes happen. Thanks,

Pages panel with 500 pages - no longer runs slowly with large number of pages

Thankyou very much for fixing this. Will the problem reappear when a website page count exceeds, significantly, 500? If so, can the same fix be applied for websites with up to, and over, 1000 pages please?

Problems with alignment in Title Text.

When selecting Align Centre or Right within Title text box all seems well until you view the page. The text self aligns back to left side. When you go back into Edit mode the text has defaulted back to left align. No matter how many times you correctly align it Middle or right as soon as you leave edit mode it defaults back to left align.
Please fix !!!

Tell a Friend Widgit

Was working great, however now teh Text in the last two boxes is invisible. You cant see the SEND TO e-mail or the MESSAGE box content unless you highlight the fields. The text in the NAME and FROM e-mail address box is visable fine. Makes no difference if i change teh text colour either. Was working fine last week.

Are these glitches due to the latest release ?

Hi Gav, that sounds like a bug with the title text. I've logged it and it should be fixed in the next release. And the text not being visible should have been fixed, but seems to not have been released. We'll get that done in the next few days.

Hi bridget, i'm not sure I understand the problem. First thing to do would be to clear your browser cache and then try again. Let me know if you still have problems after this, and i'll send you an email to continue the diagnosis.

Hi Joe, just to say that i think it's great that you reply to all our comments. GOOD JOB!!!

I have a feature request:

Could we have a log-in widget rather than the box that comes up when a user log's in. I mean like a widget that allows them to log-in on the page.

Also, i think it would be a great idea to give info on making third party widgets etc. You should have a page on the moonfruit site for third party widgets. (a bit like firefox with add-ons) This would be great as i know people have some great idea's out there!

Hi Tom, all good ideas. The login widget may be something that we can provide, but the widget API is a bit more complicated. We're working on new standards for the new sets of widgets we produce and once those are solid we may be able to provide guidelines to allow customers to produce them, but we'd also want to create a mechanism for you to share them too, so there's quite a bit to do. But thanks for the comments.

I would appreciate it if you launch a new blog/news widget with rss and make it possible for readers to leave comment on each posted article. It would also be great If you update the directory widget. Other thing there are no football/soccer templates, would be nice if you add some soccer templates as my site needs a professional football look!

Loads fo great features coming out but what is happening with the "Operaiton aborted" messages people keep getting when accessing flash pages - I know this is a bug within IE but I can't justify using an otherwise great product unless this gets sorted - and please dont say use Firefox, etc. as I can't tell viewers what to use. Yes June was spent preparing for new ideas, options and the future of the software.

While July has been spent trying to keep the SERVERS on. I said it last time the sites went down... this is not common. I've had a sites with many other hosting firms over 10 years and I don't ever remember going down. Here at sitemaker it's 3-4 times in like 30 days???

I checked other sitemaker sites on the net and many of them were down too. The sites were down again last night....went down while I was building one of my 10+ sites for a Printer.

Let's hear some truth here... what's going on.

Hi Jeff, we haven't had any problems last night. The servers show normal operation and our routers show normal levels of activity, e.g. volume of pages being served. The best thing to do is submit a support ticket with more detailed information including your site address and the time you were working and exactly what you experienced and we can follow it up. OK, I'll submit a ticket... butt straight up Joe I run 3 different computers with ultra high speed.... and today and even right now I find the forum slower than normal, some posts don't show... my www.25hourprintingservice.com site is loading like a turtle... I know my loading times. I test sites daily.

...and although I thought from time to time it's me, my connection... you come on the Blog and the forum and in 4-5 weeks there has been dozens..probably 25+ postings about slow sites or being down. If I was new here poking around thinking about going for the big package to host 10+ sites (which I pay for now) I would be a little hesitant with all these people posting this info....

my site has been hanging for 30sec's now 11:13pm Eastern... now half homepage with no logo-banner... over 1minute...

As for last night I am telling you I went to the Sitemaker site and it was down, it would not load... I checked other sites.. like blogger, youtube and yahoo... all running fine..

I've followed up for you and discussed with our host network provider. It seems that there has been a 'degraded' performance in the last 24 hours, though at no time the service has been unavailable. SEO - 301 REDIRECT Question | Need answer

So what I want to know is can moonfruit's software make sure my site only resolves at one domain ?

For example if someone types http://juffsroofing.com it would automatically redirect to http://www.juffsroofing.com . Right now I am afraid that I have 2 sites indexed so to say one at the www.juffsroofing.com and one at juffsroofing.com.

This dilutes pagerank as it spreads it across 2 domains instead of 1. -not good

Also it puts the site at risk for duplicate content. You must offer an option somewhere because if you type in moonfruit.com it automatically redirects to www.moonfruit.com.
So you guys no what I'm saying. Please, Please give me the answer I'm hoping for.

my registrar is godaddy, I would be willing to allow someone from moonfruit to see my account via snapshots of my options there. They do have a 301 redirect option but I cannot redirect o my own site?

I believe it is scripting that is needed to tell the browser and the engines that it is a PERMANENT page moved.

Not sure if there's an error in the RSS code within the Comment widget. Seems that unless the 'name' is also given as a valid email address the RSS feed is not validating ( using feedvalidator.org ). Perhaps the name and email address entry fields are simply the wrong way round?
Anyone any ideas?
