Scheduled Downtime planned 07:30 BST (GMT +1) 21, 24 & 26 August 2009
Scheduled Downtime
We will be performing routine database maintenance this morning which will take approximately 1 hour to complete. We will also be performing this action on Monday (24th) and Wednesday (26th), next week, in similar one hour blocks so that we can minimise disruption.
Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
REASON: Database Maintenance
PLANNED DURATION: Approximately 60 minutes each time.
NOTES: This is routine maintenance on the database which should result in improved overall performance of sites. We opted for these changes to be split into three different time slots during our periods of low activity in order to reduce the impact on customers.
NB. For the most up-to-date details on SiteMaker status, please visit our SiteMaker Service Status site and subscribe to the RSS feed for this service.

Comments
It's 7.55BST on 24th August, are the sites down for maintenance again?
Hi Keller,
Yes, they were down. As per our post above we had programmed in 3 x 60 min slots for programmed maintenance - all on separate days to minimise impact to users.
We did also highlight this in our Message of the Day panel, the one you get when you first sign in, to make sure all customers were notified.
Today's went smoothly, as expected, and we have one more to complete on Wednesday the 26th at the same time.

Ok, no problem, I thought it was just the 21st, that's all - just panicked a bit that maybe my sites hadn't returned after Friday (not looked at them all weekend), but glad all is well - you guys know what you're doing :-)
Hi Keller,
We could have done it all in one hit but thought it would be better if we did it in three small chunks. So, only one more to do and job done.
Cheers - Walt
Now there is a problem with the login and sign up boxes. They stack on top of each other making it impossible for the vistor to make out what the words are.
Please help!
Hi,
This will be unrelated to any database work we did in the above mentioned blog. I've checked your site in both Firefox 3.0/3.5 and IE 7. Your site looks OK and no boxes are overlapping. We have made no system changes for many weeks so the software has not been updated.
Can you please contact support so that we can get some system information from your computer, and so that you give us more details about what you are seeing and when it occurred exactly.
Have you tested this on other comptur systems and do you know what type of system and software that the visitors seeing this problem are running.
Answers to these questions should be included in your Support Query.
Thanks
Walt
