Moonfruit have a new Community Manager!
Hi, I'm Leila, the new Moonfruit Community Manager. I started yesterday at Moonfruit HQ and am settling in nicely.
If anyone has any questions, suggestions or issues, please point them in my direction. I'm known by my nickname 'Swanny' on the Moonfruit forums and can be found tweeting as @moon_swan. Please feel free to say hello. I would love to hear any suggestions you have and would especially like to hear about your experience with Moonfruit as a whole. We have a facebook fan page, which some of you might know about already - http://www.facebook.com/moonfruit . Unfortunately, the fan page was a little neglected due to a huge increase in our customer base. However, we're back on track and I'll be checking this on a regular basis.

A template to enter times,dates, details and they would automatically 'drop off' when date expired - would be great.

I am new to moonfruit and have two fashion sites/stores I hope to move to moonfruit. I had an important query is it
a) Possible to change the amount of products displaued per page
b) Is it possible to add multiple photos per image, or at least an enlarged/expandle photo once it is clicked?
Those are more or less my most pressing concerns.

The one thing I really need is a website creator that has a good membership directory feature. Yours is okay, but has some problems. Would love to see something more user friendly and something where all the typed content that's entered into the member record shows on the screen. See www.believersbc.com (which I created with Moonfruit).
The only other thing, and maybe you already have this and I just don't know about it, but I hate setting the page length and then having to manually adjust it when my text/text box goes longer than the page length - is there someway for the bottom / footer to "float" instead of the scrolling text box?

Tried dealing with this outfit, nightmare. They half answer at best, no telephone support attempts to email them with attachments showing their errors just get bounced. Cannot transfer domains with a .co.uk domain suffix according to their website pop-ups and they have the cheek to charge you for the service. I now have a domain name in limbo, no longer hosted by Easily as I have attempted to transfer it without success to Moonfruit. Any hosting company has to be better than this lot.

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a nightmare. I've checked against your email address and can find no accounts with a request to transfer a domain - only one Free account.
Can you give us the domain name so we can find the correct account, and find out what has gone wrong.
We certainly do permit .co.uk transfers and have been since 2008 so I'm not sure why you'd be seeing that kind of error.
While, I am sorry you've had problems with your domain, we do provide technical support for our customers, even Free customers, who have issues like this, logging in problems or site down scenarios. We don't provide a phone service as we find it more efficient to track and order customers according to the problem and when they logged it. It also allows us to collect valuable information about the user's browser, Flash version and operating system which often assists us in diagnosing problems.
So any details on the transfer problem and we'll be more than happy to assist.

Hi,
please help, we are trying to launch our website but whenever we try to view it, only part of the page is displayed, half of it gets cut off, as if it has not loaded properly. We are having the same problem when on your home site at moonfruit. This problem also means that we cannot transfer our domain name as the box does not load so we cannot slelect the required button, or view the charge for transfering.
Pleae help us as we would like to launch ASAP.

Hi Mark,
We've tested your site with a couple of browsers and we aren't encountering a problem. When you say cut off do you mean on the right hand side? Can you tell me if you are running IE8?
If you are unsure of the browser type and version, and the Flash version I would suggest you contact support so that we can pick up these details from your system. This would also allow us to track your issue, get screen shots from you (what you are seeing) and resolve your problem more quickly.

Yes i do mean on the right hand side, i have installed the new flash that was recommended on the site i was building and yes i am using explorer 8. i am also using a netbook, could this affect my view of the screen?i have not always had this problem whilst using the netbook.

Hi Mark,
This seems to be common problem with IE8. You, like many customers, have inadvertently switched on Zoom. If you look at the bottom right hand corner of the browser you will see something like 125% (or perhaps 90%). If you use the Zoom reset keys of Ctrl (Control) + 0 (Zero) then your browser should be reset to 100%.
Give that a try and let us know how you got on.

I use Moonfruit as a link on my site via the ANGEL GIFTED GARDENS. I have asked this question to the customer service dept. but they don't see to understand me and still unable to clarify my question.
I am new to website building etc and I want to know
am I able to use Moonfruit as a community site with live chat and networking features? similar to Ning. I want to have a community with member interaction is Moonfruit able to offer these features or not. Thanks

I've checked our Support System against your email address to see what response you did get back from us to see how we could have improved the information. Unfortunately I couldn't find your ticket. Perhaps you used an alternate email address.
With regards your question, we do offer some community tools though not as unified as Ning under one tool. You can add a chat widget to your site, along with a forum and we have a new blog due out very very soon that would enable adding of images and video (amongst other things). We do also offer a membership features across the site but they are all separate tools available across your site.
The only thing I can suggest is to set up a Trial or Free site and have a play to see if it does what you want it to do for you.

I am so excited to see my new website up and running on the internet!! I've succesfully transferred my domain name over to Gandi and it appears that Moonfruit has processed my account showing my registration information etc., but my website is still not showing? How much longer will it take?
Hi Brady,
Your domain completed on the 19th and looks to be working fine with your website. Sometimes the transfer of a domain can take a little longer than expected to kick in. The domain has to pass from your current provider to the new provider and then be approved by the Registry - the controlling body for your type of domain. So there are a few places for it to get stuck.
That said, I've checked your domain and your site and both are working as expected.

I can't seem to find any information on moving FROM Moonfruit only moving to.

I can seem to launch my site, or get the domaine name that I own to transfur to my moonfruit site. you guys need a toll free number for customer support. I'M ON A time schedule to launch the site and I'm already late.
Hi Laurie, your site was fine, but you hadn't set up your domain correctly with your provider, GoDaddy. We do have FAQ on this very subject on our Support pages and I note you got a response from one of the Support team on the same day (25th) - Ticket #110575. If you are still having issues pointing your domain you'll need to speak to GoDaddy who host it or if you need further advice please reply to that ticket.
